Don’t worry if your not getting the exercises correct at first, NO one does on their first day. Sooner or later you will find yourself doing all the exercises with ease.

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION

This is where you will learn the movements and details of Jiu-Jitsu. It will require that you pay attention and try to visually absorb as much as you can.

What makes Jiu-Jitsu different from any other martial art?

Jiu-Jitsu is a form of ground fighting unlike any other martial art. It encompasses grappling, judo, wrestling and submission techniques. Students use position, leverage and technique to dominate control and execute submissions.

Do I need to be in shape before trying Kickboxing or Jiu-Jitsu?

You DON’T need to be in shape to do Kickboxing or Jiu-Jitsu. Just start going and you will get in better shape. You will be starting your new, healthy lifestyle and in the long run you will be glad that you started earlier rather than later.

What do I wear my first time to Kickboxing or Jiu-Jitsu class?

The best thing to wear to a first class is a tight shirt and shorts. A mouthpiece is also recommended and although it’s not required, it is recommended that guys wear an athletic support. Make sure to bring a water bottle. Staying hydrated is very important.

Why do we wear gi's during Jiu-Jitsu training?

The gi forces people to rely less on their physical attributes or sweat and more on their technique. It is also believed that the gi simulates most of the self-defense situations a student is likely to encounter, because most people wear clothes.
